“I have practiced yoga on and off for about 30 years beginning with Hatha classes taught by my best friend’s aunt when I was 16. At that point in my life partying and being a bit wild were more of a draw than the mat, but gradually I began my walk to a more balanced life and took up a regular, devoted practice in 2004. I have practiced Hatha and Vinyasa, Bikram and hot yoga, have done copious amounts of yoga in my living room, and in early 2014 I started practicing Shadow yoga before completing my 200 hour teacher training with Portland’s SOLA School. My yoga is influenced and complimented by my Thai massage practice I started in 2005. In 2006 I began an intense, on-going meditation practice that has become the foundation and core of my life and has taught me that yoga is more than just exercise, that you can bring that same aware presence into asana practice. Yoga is good for body, mind and spirit, grounding and permeating the whole of my being, allowing me to live a harmonious and loving life both on and off the mat.”
