Alignment based Hatha

This class will offer an opportunity for you to become more curious about movement, in regards to the specific qualities that are unique to your body and your practice. We will use breath and traditional asana, to explore ways to move in an integrated and functional way. Each class sequence will be presented with the goal of teaching skills that a student can utilize consistently in his/her practice, and build upon from week to week. We will explore moving in varying planes and ranges of motion, with trunk stability and active muscle engagement, and an emphasis on stretching with strength and whole body integration. There will be effort exerted in this class, but in a way that encourages each student to find his/her own intelligent edge. This class welcomes all levels, all ages, all people.

Embodied Yoga Flow

A creative and integrated flow class that focuses more on how things feel rather than how they look. Together we will explore moving in both familiar and unfamiliar ways, playful transitions, and the space between the poses at a pace that feels supportive. We’ll use some traditional yoga asanas as a starting point to invite curiosity and explore what else is possible through natural movement, range of motion, interoception and guided embodied awareness.

Mindful Vinyasa

In this class we will move through a strong asana (physical postures of yoga) practice that is rooted in physical alignment and breath. This is an invigorating practice that will build strength, flexibility, and stamina. Expect longer holds and detailed verbal cues. We will move mindfully at a slower pace that is still challenging enough to make you sweat. You will leave feeling renewed and hopefully overall, just good!

Restorative

This class centers your breath and body - aligning the physical and mental by practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time. The props assist in helping you to hold poses longer.

Vinyasa

This class works to increase balance, strength and flexibility while emphasizing the connections between the breath, centeredness in the core, and movement.

You can expect a short meditation at the beginning of class followed by gentle warm up exercises, sun salutations, a series of standing poses and plenty of time to wind down into savasana. Be prepared for a playful, explorative and energizing practice. While this class is challenging, students are highly encouraged to move with their own breath and work where they are.

Yin

Yin Yoga balances our daily efforts. It is a strong practice of riding what is uncomfortable, letting go, and feeling your work. Class consists of holding poses from 2 to 10 minutes, focusing on one target area of muscles while completely relaxing everything else. Fascia, meridians, and chakras will be discussed. The nature of Yin is slow, full, and intuitive. You will gain the most benefit by going within.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, also known as "yogic sleep", is a guided meditation with the invitation to meet, greet and welcome what is being sensed and felt throughout the body. This restorative practice liberates and frees the mind so your experience derives from a deeper intuitive place. The result of this class may calm the nervous system, decrease anxiety, increase energy, and lead to less stress and better overall health. There may be some gentle physical movement or discussion for the first part of class, and the remainder will be spent in a resting, restorative posture. No prior experience necessary, both new and seasoned students welcome!
